Trips to the beach destinations can be enormous fun, especially when you are going to exotic locations such as the Bali, Flores Island, Bahamas, The Caribbean, or Mexico. It is a great opportunity to make priceless memories with friends and family. Enjoying the sun, relaxation and recreational is something that we all need.

However, planning for a beach vacation is the most important thing you must do before heading out. And let me tell you, no matter how much you plan you will always forget one thing or the other. But, don’t worry! I present you ten invaluable beach vacation tips and hacks that will ensure your beach trip stress-free and memorable.

1. Sunscreen is a must

This is something that we are told to do every day in various advertisements. But it becomes imperative while traveling, especially to a beach destination.
Sunscreen, nowadays, isn’t what it used to be (thick glossy cream). You can find a variety of sunscreens suiting your skin type and in amazing fragrances. High SPF is recommended if heading to the beach. But in any situation, sunscreen is a must!

2.Pack Light

We all have been guilty of over packing. When packing for a vacation keep in mind the destination you are visiting. There are also many DIY packing hacks available online to help you with. If you’re going to a beach destination, make sure to pack light.

When you’re going on a beach vacation, it is understood that most of the time you’ll spend on the beach. Packing fancy outfits and heels is unnecessary because most of them will be ruined in the sand. Most probably you won’t be wearing them. It is advisable to pack something light such as shorts, tank tops, maxis, etc.

3. Always Bring a Sarong

A sarong is a basic piece of clothing that everyone should have in their closet. They are light, tend to dry up faster and are perfect for all your ‘chilling on the beach’ pictures. The shops by the beach sell them at an unreasonable price. It is advisable to buy a sarong in advance.

4. Pack Extra Underwear

Underwears are small and don’t take much room in the bag. It is recommended to carry extra pairs in case of any emergency. I always make sure to have plenty of panties and swimsuits.

5. Pre-plan Your Outfits

Don’t be a last minute packer! At the last moment, you tend to pick everything and stuff it in your bag which leads to heavy luggage and missing out on important things that are essential for your trip. Research about the place, what all places you will be visiting and pack accordingly.

Imagine yourself at that location and choose the outfit that suits the occasion best. Visualization always helps!

6. Always carry a large waterproof handbag with you for your beach essentials

Packing up for a day on the beach? Don’t forget to toss up these must-haves in your bag!

  • Sunscreen

  • Sunglasses

  • Face Mist

  • Waterproof bag for wet clothes

  • Water bottle

  • Moisturizer

  • Camera

  • Photocopies of important documents

7. Wear flip-flops or crocs in the water

If you’re going for first time on the beach, don’t make the mistake that I made! I lost more than two pairs of footwear on my first beach trip. It’s better to wear either flip flops or crocs on the beach so that the sand and water doesn’t stay in your shoes and spoil your favorite pair of footwear.

8. Learn how to identify rip currents

While a trip to the seaside can be packed with fun, it can also be dangerous. A rip current is the strongest jet of water that suddenly flows away from shore. However, it also gives visual cues for you to identify potential hazard zones before getting in the water. If you’re not a good swimmer, its best to research before you hit the beach.

While in water, look out for the following signs:

  • Gaps between the waves

  • Discolored water near the shore

  • A sandbar in the water

9. Get a Travel Insurance

An unseen medical emergency can wipe out your entire savings. It is beneficial to have a travel insurance to avoid the any difficult situation. And, it’s always better to travel smart and safe!

10. Take Plenty of Photos

Now that you have taken care of everything, the most important travel tip is to enjoy your beach vacation as much as you can. Capture the moments in a way that even after ten years it brings a smile on your face.

The last and the most important advice would be to click a lot of photos because they make the best souvenirs.
